Maison et Objet Americas
A little bit about the history of this show and at the and a list of the partners of the event.
Singapore and Miami Beach share the characteristics of being border towns, each with a draw and influence extending far beyond their city limits into very economically dynamic regions. A stronghold of luxury and contemporary culture centrally situated in the ASEAN region, Singapore is the city of choice for key players in the upscale hospitality world and is the region’s premium trade-show capital. Its domestic market, like those of its neighbours, is experiencing dramatic expansion driven by a mature home-fashion culture and an exponential increase in home ownership. MAISON&OBJET ASIA, a show that is simply peerless in this region, is an avidly awaited event. Justly dubbed “the Gateway to the Americas”, Miami Beach has twofold American influences. It is the destination of choice for South America’s wealthy and pulses with the rhythm of all the Latin American capitals. The triumph of the Art Basel contemporary art fair demonstrates that the city is caressed by favourable trade winds, the same ones that will ensure the success of MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS. Not only were the locations carefully selected, but the dates chosen for MAISON&OBJET ASIA and MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS position the shows within strategic periods. In Asia, March is the month of the major sourcing shows and MAISON&OBJET ASIA provides a top-quality, complementary offer. The month of May is similarly well chosen, for MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS falls within the North American calendar of home design events without competing with other international fairs.
A year ago, MAISON ET OBJET ASIA dramatically exceeded expectations, presenting 265 brands across 6,000m2 (almost 65,000 sq. ft.), with 30% of exhibitors considered local. Now, MAISON ET OBJET AMERICAS, to be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, is on the same track. Limited in the first year to 250 exhibitors, the show sold out almost immediately, and already has a waiting list large enough for another full show. With decidedly upscale positioning, it is a format that facilitates flexibility, responsiveness and the pilot development of new services. To give select members of the public the chance to experience this event, there will be an Opening Party and specialised ‘summits’ to promote face-to-face connections and ensure effective networking. The scenography and activities will be courtesy of local talents: in the medium term, this provides a platform to showcase their individual identities at each event and pique the interest of the global MAISON ET OBJET community four times a year. The fair will be focused on two sectors, Interior Design and Home Decoration. Interior design will gather the important names in decoration and design, offering a curated range of products to suit all development and contract projects. Home Decoration will focus on offering an equally curated selection of trendsetting decorative furniture, lighting and decorative accessories.
Founded in 1995, MAISON&OBJET PARIS has continually grown and evolved to its current position as the premiere arbiter of global luxury in the home market, hosting more than 3,500 exhibitors, 80,000 trade visitors and 3,000 international journalists per session to the 2,800,000 sq. ft. Paris show at Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte. With a strong devotion to meticulously curated offerings, the discovery and support of new talent, and a keen awareness of the coming trends in the market place, MAISON&OBJET has expanded well beyond the traditional trade fair boundaries as a showcase to become an active participant in the marketplace. Building upon the strength of the brand, SAFI*, the organizer of MAISON&OBJET PARIS, is continuing to expand its reach beyond the Paris shows with two additional shows to be run annually, MAISON&OBJET ASIA, which launched in March 2014, and MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS, launching in May 2015. Strategically placed geographically to capture the sizable and yet untapped markets of Asia, the Caribbean and North/South Americas respectively, the broadened market will secure MAISON&OBJET as the quintessential global showcase.
