Design Miami and Art Basel: Art meet Sunny Miami Beach

The world’s preeminent architects, artists, and designers gather in the sunny Miami Beach. It’s Miami design and Art Basel time and without a doubt, this week, Miami is the hot place to be.
Today we show you just a  few exhibitions that are making a buzz at the art scenario in Miami.

zaha-hadid-volu-dining-pavilion-design-miami-art-week-revolution-patrik-schumacher-designboom-01-818x545 zaha-hadid-volu-dining-pavilion-design-miami-art-week-revolution-precrafted-properties-designboom-01Zaha Hadid’s ‘Volu’, is a contribution to the collection is a contemporary dining pavilion. The structure presents a bold silhouette, forming a typical fusion of design, lightweight engineering, and precision fabrication. Containing bespoke furniture, the design continues a rational, geometric production by embedding the tectonics of manufacture within the form itself.

harvard-GSD-design-miami-unbuilt-pavilion-designboom-04 harvard-GSD-design-miami-unbuilt-pavilion-designboom-02The UNBUILT pavilion stands as a welcoming beacon for visitors arriving into this year’s fair. conceived by a team of five architecture students: Joanne Cheung, Jenny Shen, Steven Meyer, Doug Harsevoort, and Yiliu Shen-Burke from Harvard GSD .he structure is defined by its metal frame, with a series of 200 unique models seamlessly integrated into the design. The pink color provides a vibrant contrast against the blue sky.

81n7StBoh6L ©2014_LennyKravitz-1004527Lenny Kravitz, showed “FLASH” ,his latest collection of black and white snaps at the Leica Gallery in the Design District . The oversize, black and white shots, which have been shown in L.A.’s Leica Gallery as well, give a sense of what it might be like to be a celebrity, always on view.

The aircraft installation is on a show as part of this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach fair.

Inside Louis Vuitton's Miami Design District store.Louis Vuitton is staging its “Objets Nomades” collection — a special collaboration of foldable furniture and travel accessories. Total of 10 designers are now involved in the program, including Brothers Campana, Patricia Urquiola and Maarten Baas. This year, Raw Edges, Damien Langlois-Meurinne and Gwenaël Nicolas were added to the roster during Milan Design Week.
In Miami, Dutch designer Marcel Wanders will debut a foldable lounge chair, one in tan leather and one in turquoise blue, inspired by Ocean Drive in South Beach.
